So Sweet After 86 Years
After the heart break of game seven last year and a tough winter the Sox are finally World Series Champions. People have been waiting their entire lives to see this team make it over that hurrdle. Close calls in '48 (Enos Slaughter's mad dash home) '67 (Gibson's Cardinals) '75 (Fiske's Homerun) '78 (Buckey Bleeping Dent) '86 (Buckner enough said) and '03 (Aaron Bleeping Boone) had people thinking a Sox Championship would never happen.
This year it cane close to not happening again going down 3-0 to the Yankees most of us had little hope, But we rallied as a Nation used every good luck charm we could (finger nail) and willed our team back from Death. The Yankees historic collapse makes this championship even more sweet. No more 1918, No more Curse, No more wishing we had what the Yankees do. We are on top finally and it feels real good.
